Well well…. Is Abercrombie waking up? Not earning enough money, because of their ‘coming out’ disliking plus size people wearing their clothes. They will expand their women’s collection to sizes larger than 10. The new range of sizes is set to debut in the spring of 2014.
Abercrombie CEO Mike Jeffries has been quoted previously for saying that the brand is meant for “cool, good-looking” people, people who aren’t fat. Jeffries, however, seems to be changing his tune after several consecutive months of sales declines. “Fat chicks will just never be a part of the ‘in’ crowd.” Now they want to make money out of the ‘fat’ people?
I was never a fan of this brand, and I never will be. It’s not my style, even if it would come in my size… I would never buy it. But for young plus size girls, who want to look the same as their friends, it’s possible to buy these clothes. And that’s a great thing! Don’t create islands! Let everyBODY be free to choose to wear clothes they want. And don’t punish girls or women in larger sizes, by telling them they are not cool or not pretty! Because everyBODY is beautiful and cool, doesn’t matter what size you have! Let’s stop this size fight!
