For the new DIESEL campaign Nicola Formichetti was looking for a new campaign star. He got out his laptop and trawled through Tumblr. Nicola Formichetti said to his Tumblr crew: ‘I wanted to find people who reflected the diversity of the creative community today and not just the typical model. I wanted the campaign to showcase a variety of characters, people who are beautiful in their own unique way.’
So cool he also chose an inbetweenie: Michelle Calderon, a 22-year-old graffiti artist. Great to show some size diversity in a jeans brand! Well done, DIESEL!! Well done, Nicola Formichetti!
