Since the beginning of my blog, I’ve been posting quotes. Positive quotes I get from Pinterest, by icons or celebrities who inspire me. Because I want to create my own style I use these great paintings of Gil Elvgren. I want to let you know about this great artist! I am a big admirer and fan!
Gil Elvgren (March 15, 1914 – February 29, 1980), born Gillette Elvgren in Saint Paul, Minnesota, was an American painter of pin-up girls, advertising and illustration. Elvgren was one of the most important pin-up and glamour artists of the twentieth century. Elvgren was a classical American illustrator. He was a master of portraying the all-American ideal female. Elvgren was a commercial success. Elvgren lived in various locations, and was active from the 1930s to 1970s. He worked for Coca Cola, and more.
Painters were already making reality look better. They create a better version of people. Elvgren did the same. He took pictures of his models and used these for his paintings. He created some real pin up girls! Girls who have real curves and look very feminine! And that’s the reason I use these paintings. I love to see very feminine women who are good looking, funny and confident!
