Japanese plus size magazine La Farfa call plus size women: ‘marshmallow girls’ and I LOVE it! I always was a HUGE fan of Asian magazines, fashion and lolita’s! Love the style of the Japanese harajuku girls!
This new term for larger women has appeared in Japanese, thanks to the new plus size women’s magazine, la farfa.
The term ‘marshmallow girl’ to refer to women who have a ‘chubby’ body type is causing controversy online, but on December 11, a model introduced in a magazine as as marshmallow girl, Goto Seina, spoke positively of the term on her blog, saying, “It’s something that makes me really happy”. My opinion: “Marshmallow girl” is a positive name for a bigger girl, chubby, but not extreme fat. Maybe I can compare it with inbetweenie? Not skinny girls who are really happy with themselves, deserve a positive nick name! Don’t you think?
Can’t wait to see this magazine in real… and to all ‘marshmallow girls’ out there: be proud and embrace your body!
