And there it was… British Plus Size Fashion Weekend… more than a week ago! Invited by Navabi. Honestly… I had no idea what to expect. I was hoping for a ‘high end’ show with profi models in different sizes. There were some beautiful girls walking on that catwalk. Loved Whitney Thompson, Raphaella Carmen, even Hayley Hasselhoff was there.
Whitney Thompson was opening the show! This is a picture during their last repetition.
I am very happy these kinds of events are there! Riane Ward and Remy Ray did a great job. I know it’s not easy to arrange all these brands, models, the location, etc. But I think the plus size industry is ready for the next step… ready for the professional level! This time I saw some models, who are perfect for a fashion show in a local mall… but not on this runway! This is my very honest opinion… because I believe plus size can go to another level! And yes.. everBODY is ready for that!
Diversity of models… this picture was taken before the show started…
I love seeing some nice brands like Asos, Simply Be, Idea London, Evans, Remy Ray, Dynasty London. They showed a very nice collection. And of course everything is a ‘taste thing’. And these were very 2014, stylish, trendy or very classy! The shapes were nice.
I am getting very very happy… to see average sizes in ‘straight size runway shows… like DKNY did during NYC fashion week… for me this means size revolution… accepting size diversity! Integration of straight and plus size… I have very good hopes… to see more and more of these positive changes… Milan Fashion week is going on now … and let’s hope Paris is also ready for it… some day!
Model size 42-44 for DKNY, NYC fashion week 3 weeks ago!
