Finally it’s time! The oldest magazine of all time, Harper’s Bazaar, launches in The Netherlands! Last week on Friday afternoon they had their New York exposition opening gallery in the Kahmann gallery in Amsterdam. The Kahmann gallery had made a selection out of the compilation ‘125 Great Moments of Harper’s Bazaar’. This is a collection of the most outstanding illustrations, photography and columns that Harper’s Bazaar published in their magazine.
The Great moments of Harper’s Bazaar
Harpers’s BAZAAR started 146 years ago in the Big city New York.
This magazine is the founder of many starts, icons and legends in the fashion and art industry.
The exposition is a tribute to their work for Harper’s BAZAAR and the city where it all started, New York.
A few names of the people that grew with this magazine, are Diana Vreeland (fashion director), Richard Avedon (photographer, Caramel Snow/head director), Alexey Brodvitch (art director), Andy Warhol (illustrator and art icon) and last but not least Liz Tilberis (head chef director of bazaar in the 90’s).
Cécile Narinx is going to be editor in chief of the Dutch edition of Harper’s BAZAAR. I am a big fan of her! Let’s wish her the best of luck and hope it will become a great success.
The opening was lovely and you could see the most impressive editions of the magazine, and some pictures of New York. We had a nice glass of champagne, some looks at Harper’s Bazaar editions from all over the world and a nice view of the gallery.
Can’t wait for the first issue… the September Issue!!!
